I bought this because I've continued to ride my bike long distances. Even longer during the pandemic. Rather than bring the mask I wear, now back at work, the Ice Silk neck gaiter substitutes perfectly. I wear it around my neck so when I get too close, say at a stop with a number of other cyclists, I can cover up. And I do. It works especially well when at my usual turnaround 24 miles from home I head into the Prather Shell station for a Cran-Grape. No matter that about half the other people in the Sierra foothills community don't do any coverups. At least, I'm doing my part. But great product. Kinda thin. But easy to breathe through. And it's got enough blocking power that it still fogs my glasses. Yay.
Fits comfortably, the design makes it easy to pop the lower part down under the chin. Lightweight, but very warm. I bought 2 others before this one and this was the best.
It's NOT for cooler riding what-so-ever. I have a fleece gaiter I use for cooler temp rides. This is perfect for summer riding, keeps the bugs out of the mouth on open face, also keeps the neck cool when you wring it out in cold water, over your head and viola! It also multi-purposes when you don't have a hat as a bandana, etc. Can't say enough good about this, also has elastic bands top/bottom that you will have to stretch out a bit at first but no big deal afterwards.Materials are of good quality and like anything, take care of it and it should last.
I bought this gaiter to help keep bugs like mosquitoes from getting in my nose and mouth while working in the field. It works, but it's not my favorite. The material gets hard to breathe in once the temp gets over 75F, and it's a bit too snug on my head to pull over my ears for any added protection. I also got some snags immediately upon the first day of use, but it seems to be holding up decently after that.
It was really thin not much wind resistant but it covers the head and mouth and nose area thou. Like the fact I can wear it around my neck instead of taking it off in a mask epidemic age
